The Japanese Man Who Survived Hiroshima… and Nagasaki

Tsutomu Yamaguchi was in Hiroshima on August 6, 1945, when the atomic bomb fell. He survived with burns.

Three days later, he returned home—to Nagasaki. He was in an office when the second bomb exploded. Against all odds, he survived again. He lived into his 90s, becoming a symbol of resilience.
